Bayreuth (dpa/lby) – The Universities of Bayreuth and Bamberg and the Universities of Coburg and Hof have been working together in the Alliance of Technology Higher Franconia (TAO) for eleven years. Now the new home for this collaboration will be presented to the public on Saturday (May 21st). Bavarian Science Minister Markus Blume (CSU) will hold the speech in the new TAO building on the University of Bayreuth campus.
The mission of the alliance is to expand the region of Upper Franconia as a science site, announced Anja Chales de Beaulieu, Head of the TAO Office. Universities and colleges rely on cooperation rather than competition. The collaboration should also help slow down the migration of young people from Upper Franconia to urban areas and provide them with research and educational opportunities at home. Research and teaching under the TAO umbrella focus on energy, mobility, and materials as well as information and sensor technology.
