Although you can add a variety of extensions to Chrome and use them easily, there is a risk of problems such as “possibly installing malware once the extension owner changes.” With the 'Under New Management' Chrome extension developed by software engineer Matt Frisbie, you can receive notifications when the owner of an extension installed in Chrome changes.

Click “unm-0.0.1.zip” to download.
The file will be downloaded in ZIP format, so decompress it using standard Windows functions or a decompression program.
Open Chrome and click on the menu button in the upper right corner.
Click “Manage Add-ons” in the “Add-ons” section.
Turn on the Developer Mode tab in the upper right corner.
Click “Load Unpacked Accessories”.
The directory selection screen will be displayed, so double-click the unzipped “unm-0.0.1” to open it.
Click on the “dist” folder and click “Select Folder”.
The installation is complete if “Under New Administration 0.0.1” is added to the “All Extensions” column.
After installation under the new administration, Chrome will continue to automatically check if the owner of the installed extensions has changed, and if the owner of any extension changes, an icon will be displayed under the new administration, and a red badge will appear. Moreover, by clicking on the icon, you can check at a glance the difference between the owner's name before and after the change.
If there are no changes in the extension owner, “No changes detected” will be displayed.
“Many users who deploy extensions may not realize that they are at risk due to a change in ownership of the extension,” Frisbie said. “We will notify you of the change in ownership, provide you with complete information about the extensions we implement, and give you the opportunity to decide whether you want to continue using them.”
