Ubisoft Quartz: Numbers in Detail – Presentation, Editions and Trade

Just yesterday, Tuesday, Ubisoft introduced the new “Quartz”, in which playable NFT objects will be integrated into Ubisoft titles. These are called “numbers” and will be tested for the first time tomorrow, Thursday, December 9, 2021.

After the official unveiling of the project yesterday, there are now more details about Ubisoft NFTs, which of course we don’t want to withhold from you. Although the feedback from the community and generally on various social media platforms is rather negative, it remains to be seen how the new technology will actually be implemented and how it will ultimately be received by players and in the game’s communities.

The NFT project begins in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint and will expand further in the future. The first numbers are also not sold, but you can collect them for free under certain conditions.

Free numbers at Ubisoft: Here’s how

As Ubisoft explains on their Quartz landing page, the numbers will be published and sold in the future as limited drops. At the start of the beta phase, which begins tomorrow Thursday, there will be three items that you can easily secure under certain conditions.

The start was made by M4A1 Tactical | Wolves. An assault rifle that will be available in the limited edition Ghost Recon Breakpoint. To get this number from 7:00 PM (7:00 PM GMT +1) on December 9, 2021, you must have at least 5 level of experience in the game. One of the great characteristics of NFTs, or in the case of Digits for the Ubisoft Project, is the ability to trade at a free rate. With respect to Ubisoft’s NFTs, such commerce should not take place directly through Ubisoft Quartz, but through licensed third-party marketplaces rarible.com and objkt.com.

Additional requirements to purchase Digits are completion of the 18th year of life, XP level 5 in the game as well as residency in an eligible country.

This is how numbers work

Ubisoft’s Digits are the first NFTs offered by the developer and publisher. It is based on and stored on the PoS blockchain Tezos. PoS stands for Proof of Stake. So-called PoS protocols require significantly less power compared to PoW protocols (PoW = Proof-of-Work).

As Ubisoft explains, the focus is on the search for more advanced and energy-efficient forms of blockchain. In this case, the decision was made on Tezos, which, unlike the popular currencies Bitcoin or Ethereum, is not based on PoW protocols, but rather on PoS protocols.
