French authorities said Friday that rapper Travis Scott was arrested after an alleged altercation between a security guard and his bodyguard at a luxury hotel in central Paris.
“I can confirm that on August 9, 2024, police officers were called to the George V hotel and arrested the rapper known as Travis Scott for assaulting a security guard,” the Paris prosecutor's office said in a statement.
The statement said, “The security guard intervened to separate the rapper from his bodyguard, and the Paris Public Prosecution referred the case to the first district of the judicial police,” without adding any further details.

Scott, 33, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II, was pictured in the crowd at the Olympic men's basketball semifinal on Thursday, where the U.S. team came from behind to secure a narrow four-point win and advance to the final and a chance at the gold medal.
Located near Paris' famous Champs-Elysees and overlooking the Eiffel Tower, the George V Hotel features several Michelin-starred restaurants.
Scott was arrested in June on intoxication charges after he shouted at people on a yacht in Miami Beach, Florida. His attorney said the incident was just a “misunderstanding.”
Scott has not publicly spoken or commented on the arrest. The Associated Press said it reached out to Scott's representative but did not receive a response.
