Tiktok can actually control your daily screen time. Now there will soon be a new feature in the app that draws attention to the uninterrupted consumption of short video.
BERLIN – Tiktok wants to make it easier for users to control the amount of time they spend on the short video portal. If the daily screen time control already available in the app is activated, then regular breaks can also be programmed after a freely selectable number of minutes in the future.
Just like when you exceed your daily screen time, you’ll get a reminder to take a break if you’ve been watching short videos consistently for too long.
Another innovation announced in the app is the so-called Screen Time Dashboard, which is a statistical area that provides information about how often you open the app and for how long each day and at what time. You can also set a weekly reminder to look at the dashboard.
By default, young people aged 13-17 should be reminded once a week to monitor their digital well-being. If someone in this age group uses Tiktok for more than 100 minutes a day, the next time the app is opened, it will remind them that there are functions to control screen time. New features will be integrated into the app over the coming weeks. dpa
