Tiktok tests HTML5 mini games
A Tiktok spokesperson confirmed that the company is testing several HTML5 mini-games. Tiktok can use advertising-funded games for parent company Bytedance. The aim of the games in Tiktok is to increase the time that users spend on the platform. Tiktok made its first attempts at playing it last year. Together with Feeding America, the platform has published a “Farmville” “Garden of Good” clone where players can collect points and use them for donations. Tiktok is also working with Zynga on the endless Disco Loco 3D game.
Competition never sleeps
Facebook rival and Chinese Tiktok predecessor Douyin is also based on gaming. The streaming service Netflix is also making attempts in the gaming direction. Through Live Studio for PC, Tiktok recently tested its streaming software for games. The selected authors were given the opportunity to incorporate widgets into their videos. It remains to be seen what concrete gaming plans Tiktok has for the future.
