As announced by CD developer Projekt RED, fans of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 will still have to be patient, and next-gen releases planned for this year will not appear.

The Polish developer addresses the community in an official statement.

she says:

“We have an important update on the next generation updates for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for consoles and PC. Based on the recommendations of the teams supervising the development of both games, we have decided to postpone their release until 2022.

Our current target for Cyberpunk 2077 is Q1 2022 and Q2 2022 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

We apologize for the long wait, but we want to do it right.”

Obviously, one has learned from the supposed early release of Cyberpunk 2077. Of course, the delay is annoying for both sides, but if you consider the rather thin cover with next-gen consoles and high-performance graphics cards, the delay is probably acceptable for most gamers.
