Asus TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition is a mid-range gaming laptop. AMD hardware provides the necessary computing power. This model is available for around 1,600 to 1,700 euros. Other variants are available with prices starting at 1,500 euros.
The Ryzen 9 7940HS and Radeon RX 7600S equip the computer for video processing, photos, rendering and, of course, games. The CPU supports 16 GB of working memory (DDR4-4800, dual channel mode). It will be possible to expand the memory. The storage capacity of the onboard PCIe 4 SSD (M.2-2280) is minimal at 512GB – more can be expected from a €1,600 laptop. If necessary, another PCIe 4 SSD can be installed.
The device displays all the current games smoothly on the screen. Full screen resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels) and high settings can usually be selected to maximum. The 16-inch (IPS, 165Hz, sRGB, FreeSync) matte screen in a work-friendly 16:10 format left a good impression for the most part, but it should have a higher brightness.
A single battery charge (90 Wh) is enough for a practical runtime of about 12.5 hours – an excellent value. Positive: The energy storage device can be recharged via the power supply unit provided by Asus (240W) and via a universal USB-C charger – one of the two USB-C ports (1x USB 4, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2) supports Power Delivery.
