Walks in video games, trips to other worlds and interactive exhibits: at “Play 22” in Hamburg, the scope of the world of video games will be presented. Under the slogan “Take a breath,” visitors can learn about the gaming world from October 31 to November 6, the organizers announced.

Extensive workshops, exhibitions and performances

From virtual walking tours to torch rides on Halloween, the festival offers a wide range of workshops, exhibitions, and presentations. These also include classroom workshops to introduce the topic to the next generation of potential game developers. A training session for teachers revolves around the use of video games as a protest objective.

Can video games relieve everyday stress?

Works on the themes of stress, reflection and relaxation are displayed in an interactive exhibition. Organizer Tina Ziegler announced that festival visitors can learn in a playful way how video games should help relieve the stress of everyday life. “The past year has been a challenge for all of us. Topics such as exhaustion, depression and the feeling of being in a hamster’s wheel worry many.” The festival is all about bringing people closer to the gaming world and showing the different sides of computer games, no matter if they are young or old.
