- Ford sets an example in the gaming world by traversing barrier-free rides
- Donations collected go to SOS Children’s Villages in Ukraine and neighboring countries
On Thursday, April 7, 2022, Ford supported the SOS Children’s Villages fundraising event “Village Cup” through Obstacle-Free Gaming Transit. The so-called “Vanzilla” is an obstacle-free vehicle with comprehensive gaming technology. Donations collected during the live broadcast on Twitch will go to SOS Children’s Villages in Ukraine and neighboring countries, which have received refugee children and families.
Fordzilla brand ambassador Angelo Polo ran the Ford esports team, the virtual gaming event with player Lisa Weskamp aka “Lunarie”. On his TwitchaSmoogl channel, viewers can view a profile of Live broadcast With an exciting mix of information and entertainment and also donate yourself to SOS Children’s Villages.
“We are very happy that we were able to win Ford as a supporter of our fundraising event. We are excited about the ride-hailing vehicle and the commitment associated with greater inclusion – a topic that is also very important to us at SOS Children’s Villages around the world,” says Lara Prölß of Villages SOS children around the world.
During the live broadcast, popular gaming influencers competed against each other on the FIFA21 virtual stadium and in exciting studio games. During the break, Angelo Bülow introduced the Ford Gaming Transit and answered all questions regarding the all-around gaming vehicle.
After a successful road trip by Ford Gaming Transit last summer, the car has once again managed to make the hearts of gamers beat faster at the Cup of Villages. The staff of the mosaic workshop for the disabled in Berlin also participated in the event. Ford enables a holistic gaming experience with wheelchair lifts and adaptive game controllers that can be adapted to the individual needs of gamers with mobility impairments.
“The topic of inclusion is very important to me and the entire Fordzilla team. I am very pleased that we are supporting the important work of SOS Children’s Villages through our ‘Vanzilla’ livestream and that we are putting a smile on the faces of children and people with physical disabilities and bringing the wonderful world of gaming a little closer,” says Angelo Polo, Brand Ambassador for the Fordzilla Team.
Accessible car with all-in-one gaming technology
Ford developed so-called transit games to provide people with limited mobility with an accessible and exciting gaming experience. The crossover’s striking styling includes design features from the automaker MS-RT, which already produces sportier versions of the Ford Transit Custom and Connect models, as well as the signature Ranger MS-RT pickup.
Cross Games are designed to be easily accessible to all participating players. For this purpose, body manufacturer Allied Mobility has installed a wheelchair lift and a foldable ramp to facilitate entry and exit. At the same time, adaptive game controllers can be configured to meet the unique needs of gamers with movement impairments.
Gaming Transit is divided into three gaming zones: an event zone, racing gaming platforms with steering wheels, pedals, racing seats and dual screens.
