The Compass Book: Iremonger Trilogy: The Dark Secrets of Heap House

I usually always start my reviews with an introductory text appropriate to the topic of the book, but that’s really difficult for me here. Not because there is no suitable topic, on the contrary, there are many. And not every pre-selection will do the book justice, so just two words and then the review begins.
ambiguous ambiguous.

Edward Curry’s Iremonger trilogy begins with The Dark Mysteries of Heap House and there are endless. In order to discover these secrets, we accompany two people through the walls or into the walls, because while one of them has been living there all his life, Lucy Pennant moves into the house as a new maid. The first volume of the trilogy has now been published by Knesebeck Verlag, which has very special work on display.

Private, this is also a clad. First you have to name the properties of the Iremongers. The garbage dealers are garbage tycoons and they live in a huge mansion among the rubbish and junk. This is a really special feature. Even stranger, however, are the birth items that Iremongers receive directly from the cradle. These items aren’t (always) useful, but they’re often weird. For example, Clad has a bathtub plug, which isn’t useless, but it’s still weird. But Cladd is also special to Iremongers, as he can hear these things talking. They hear it, they say a name.
Lucy, on the other hand, receives her own items when she moves in, matches, which are immediately put into the safe. Curious and undisciplined, their presence causes some commotion and when a storm breaks out, many strange things happen.
Luckily for the Iremongers, Clad and Lucy meet up and try to take care of these and other things and uncover the secrets of the Iremongers.

Whimsical, dark, mysterious, sexy, and above all, super fun. There are also some twists and craziness that make the book a truly special work and will definitely make you want to read the next two volumes. It bothers me that a major publisher has not translated this work, because even if it’s not Harry Potter, there’s still a lot of potential behind it.

Synopsis: With Cladd and Lucy, the first volume of the Iremonger trilogy introduces two fantastic heroes and they manage to uncover the secrets of the Iremongers with exciting adventures, strange interludes, and plenty of action. Then the ending delivers enough tension and some twists that volume two urgently needs.
