Start practicing your red light and green light because “Squid Game: The Challenge” is back for another season.

Netflix renewed the reality show Wednesday morning ahead of the Season 1 finale, where one person will win $4.56 million. After nine episodes of exciting games, forged and broken alliances, and shocking betrayals, there are only three contestants left after the 453rd elimination: Mai, who is the 287th player; Phil, Player 451; Wissam, Player 016.

“There was no red light in our decision to greenlight Season 2 of Squid Game: The Challenge, the most ambitious unscripted show we’ve ever debuted on Netflix,” Brandon Rigg, Netflix’s vice president of reality series, said in a statement. “We are very excited to continue the ‘Squid Game’ franchise with our team in Korea and the producers at Studio Lambert and The Garden for this epic competition series.”

The Season 1 finale will air on Netflix on Wednesday at 9pm ET/6pm PT. The show has been ranked number one on Netflix’s list of the 10 best English-language shows for the past two weeks. The flagship series “Squid Game” holds the record for the most popular Netflix show of all time, with 1.65 billion hours watched in the first 28 days after its premiere in September 2021. It has been renewed for a second season with creator Hwang Dong-hyuk.

“Squid Game: The Challenge” is a co-production between Studio Lambert (“The Circle”) and The Garden (“24 Hours in A&E”), part of ITV Studios.
