MUNICH – Tesla has now given its Model 3 a facelift after six years and more than two million units rolling off the production line. Presented at IAA Mobility in Munich. Deliveries of the rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive Tesla 3 will begin in Europe and the Middle East in late October.
Tesla has changed little visually with its Model 3, which has grown slightly in length. There are two new colours, a new front fascia with new headlights and taillights with an updated design integrated into the tailgate.
According to the manufacturer, sharper body lines, aerodynamically optimized surfaces and new skirts are intended to reduce air resistance and wind noise and increase range, which Tesla now lists at 513 to 629 km in WLTP.
The interior design should ensure moments of luxury everywhere using high-quality materials, customizable ambient lighting and heated and ventilated seats. Thanks to 360-degree acoustic glass and improved suspension bushings, seals and soundproofing materials, the manufacturer promises a quieter interior than ever before.
The steering wheel paddles have been replaced with tactile switches and physical buttons. As with the latest S and Model S the 15.4-inch touchscreen in the middle is the same size as before, but offers more usable space thanks to a narrower bezel and is said to react more quickly.
The audio experience in the all-wheel drive version is provided by 17 speakers, two subwoofers and two subwoofers. The audio system for rear-wheel drive versions works with nine speakers, one subwoofer and a subwoofer. Additional and more powerful microphones are intended to ensure improved sound quality during phone conversations. A new 8-inch rear screen integrates controls for air conditioning, ventilation and audio/video system.
