Stellantis and Factrial accelerate the pace of electric cars with solid-state battery technology | Corporate Communications

Amsterdam Woburn, Massachusetts – October 23, 2024 – With the next chapter of their partnership, Stellantis NV and Factory Inc. (Multiplied) Develop and deploy next-generation electric vehicles (EVs) powered by Factorial's solid-state battery technology. This initiative builds on Stellantis' $75 million investment in Factorial in 2021.

Stellantis will launch a trial fleet of all-new Dogde-branded Charger Daytona vehicles equipped with Factorial solid-state batteries by 2026. This is another important step in commercializing this promising technology. This test fleet allows the Factorial technology to be validated and its performance evaluated in real driving conditions.

Factorial will supply cells to Stellantis based on its FEST® – Solid-state battery technology, which enables a specific energy density of more than 390 Wh/kg (watt-hours per kilogram). Festival®Factorial technology offers significant advantages over traditional lithium-ion batteries, including higher energy density, lower weight, improved performance, and the potential to reduce overall vehicle costs over time. This makes this technology an ideal candidate to power the next generation of electric vehicles.

Stellantis chose the STLA large multi-power platform for this innovative technology as it focuses on full-size electric SUVs and high-performance vehicles. STLA's large platform, the cornerstone of the strategic plan Daring Forward 2030 From Stellantis, used by brands like Jeep®Dodge, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo and Maserati are used. It is designed to cover up to two million vehicles worldwide. It is therefore ideal for this innovative battery technology.
