Hogwarts Legacy takes place at the end of the 19th century, long before the events of books and movies. “At the heart of it all is a fully exploreable Hogwarts full of mysteries to discover and mysteries to solve.” Regardless, “Your legacy in the wizarding world of the late 19th century will remind you of everything you loved about Harry Potter – discovering magic, making new friends, and being a hero.”

Describing the combat system, Wood says, “Different spells allow for different approaches to combat. Do you want to charge the opponent in brandishing a battle stick, and beat the opponent before you take him down hard? Or do you cast a disappointment spell to reverse direction. And take out opponents using Petrificus Totalus? Silent? Various techniques would be needed to respond to the opponent’s strengths and weaknesses, which would make every fight feel like holding him in.”
