Squid creator, writer, and director, Hwang Dong-hyuk, has announced that the hit Netflix series will be returning for a second season. While the streaming platform has yet to make an official announcement, the Associated Press quoted Dong Hyuk during the show’s red carpet celebration, saying that he believes fans have left him no choice but to do another season. He said, “There was a lot of pressure, a lot of demand and a lot of love for season two. It’s in my head right now. I’m currently in the planning process. But I think it’s too early to say when and how this will happen. So I promise you that, Ji Hoon will be back and I will He does something for the world.”
Once the announcement was made, fans of the dystopian survival drama, which has grown exponentially with each passing day, took to social media to express their excitement, with many hinting at what they expected from the second season in South Korea.
