SpaceX launched its Falcon 9 rocket on November 10, 2023, Japan time. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and SpaceX reported on their official websites and social media that the Cargo Dragon supply ship they were on board successfully launched and docked safely with the International Space Station (ISS).

The Cargo Dragon Supply Ship is an unmanned supply ship that transports supplies to the International Space Station. “Dragon CRS-2 SpX-29” (CRS-29, Dragon Supply Ship Operation No. 29) is the service’s 29th space mission. There are approximately 3 tons of equipment and other supplies on board.
The Cargo Dragon supply ship was launched from Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Pad 39A at 10:28 AM on November 10, 2023 Japan time, and arrived at the ISS’s second “Harmony” coupling module at 7:07 PM the next day. On November 11th. The docking was successful.
Among the items on board this time was a demonstration laser communication device called ILLUMA-T (Integrated Laser Communications Relay Demonstration, Low-Earth Orbit User Modem and Loudspeaker Terminal). ILLUMA-T will be installed outside the International Space Station with the goal of building NASA’s first two-way laser communications relay system using infrared lasers, along with an Earth-orbiting laser communications augmentation satellite.
