Sony Interactive Entertainment announced on September 20 that it will release a limited edition “PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection” of the PS5 console and peripherals in original PlayStation colors on November 21.
This celebrates the 30th anniversary of PlayStation on December 3rd. The design uses the colour scheme of the first PlayStation, which was released on December 3rd, 1994, and is reminiscent of those days.
The PlayStation 5 Pro 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle includes a limited edition PS5 Pro (equipped with a 2TB SSD and compatible with Wi-Fi 7), as well as a limited edition DualSense wireless controller, DualSense Edge wireless controller, and a DualSense charging stand, including the main body cover for the disc drive (disc drive sold separately). In addition to the limited vertical stand, special collector's items such as controller connector covers, cable ties, stickers, limited-edition stickers, and paper clips are also included. Additionally, the PlayStation 5 Pro 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle is set to be sold in a limited run of 12,300 units worldwide, in honor of the release date of the first PlayStation. Each console will be engraved with a different serial number.
The PlayStation 5 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Digital Edition Bundle includes the limited edition PS5 Digital Edition main console (equipped with a 1TB SSD), a limited edition DualSense wireless controller, and the main body cover for the drive (disc drive sold separately). It also includes a limited edition vertical stand and a special collector's item.
Additionally, the PlayStation Portal Remote Player 30th Anniversary Limited Edition, the DualSense Edge Wireless Controller 30th Anniversary Limited Edition, and the DualSense Wireless Controller 30th Anniversary Limited Edition are also set to be sold separately.
Pre-orders will begin serially starting at 10:00 a.m. on September 30 at PlayStation stores and EC locations in Japan.
