After a long radio silence, Ubi Soft picks up a sound tweet Attitude from the (negative) reactions to the new branch of the settler chain. After sometimes disastrous backlash from the community and the trade press, Die Siedler’s team postponed the release. The release is planned for March 17 this year. However, a new date has not yet been set. Even if our impression of the closed beta wasn’t that clear at the time (I read here), the move by Ubi Soft is still welcome, as the comments seem to have been taken seriously.
So there will likely be a “third” release after the premiere at Gamescom ’19 and the closed beta of the game. It remains to be seen if and how Ubi Soft will incorporate feedback. Criticisms from society were, for example, the lack of complexity of the economic system or the lack of opportunity to win through something other than the military.
