This was done in three matches: G2 Esports dominated Misfits Gaming in the European League of Legends LEC qualifiers and is now in the semi-finals.
“It was a good streak,” G2’s Rasmus Winther said in an interview after the win. “I’m glad we had a second chance. We gain confidence when we play on stage and I think that shows.”
From the start, G2 was in charge. The misfits then succeeded in shrinking the deficit again and delaying G2’s victory by stealing the Dragon’s Soul, but in the end they had to admit defeat to their opponent.
That continued into the next game – it was more than one-sided. G2 showed their class, and dispatched the Misfits in just 27 minutes.
In the decisive third match, G2 continued to press on the gas. This time around, the Misfits managed to stay in the game for at least a while. But G2 was not impressed with that and made the final 3-0 perfect. Next weekend the team will play Fnatic in the finals.
