Smart TVs are becoming more and more feature-rich, and menus are likely to get even more confusing. With its Smart Hub, now categorized by content, Samsung wants to change that.

Samsung also introduced the new Smart Hub 2022 at its Unbox & Discover digital product event. It should be easier to consume digital content on your Smart TV from the Start screen.
The functional design of Smart TV user interfaces and smart TV sticks is not an unimportant topic: Amazon’s Best Dog Stream in particular is criticized for the confusing interface of the hugely popular FireTV devices.

With Smart Hub 2022, which is based on the internal operating system Tizen, Samsung is relying on thematic aggregation of content. For this purpose, three main categories have been created, which can be selected through the side menu: “Games”, “Atmospheres” and “Media”.
While ‘Games’ should be relatively straightforward, the ‘Media’ homepage houses favorite streaming apps like Netflix and Disney+, but it also provides direct access to linear TV shows and free streaming TV from Samsung TV+ – there are 8K TV from the manufacturer includes exclusive viewing of the third season of “Das Boot” in 8K.
At the same time, the “Ambient” mode is a great screen saver that, apparently, can intelligently adapt aesthetically to the room’s decor. It is also possible to display your own photo galleries or NFTs in this decorator mode.
