Although Samsung Display does not produce displays itself, it acts as a supplier for providers such as Asus, Dell, Alienware, MSI, and of course the parent company Samsung Electronics. It is now clear that a wave of new QD-OLED displays awaits us in 2024. This refers to OLED displays with quantum dots. Samsung Display has introduced two new panels with different technical advantages.
Mass production of panels has already begun. This is not surprising, because in the past Asus has already promised a new QD-OLED display, the features of which are completely identical to one of the new panels. One of the new panels has a diagonal of 31.5 inches, has an Ultra HD resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) and thus achieves a pixel density of 140 ppi.
The second counterpart shrinks in size to 27 inches, and only has QHD resolution, but achieves an amazing refresh rate of 360 Hz. The Samsung monitor only mentions 0.03ms as response time. So this might interest some gaming fans.
The supplier’s goal is to supply twice as many QD-OLED panels for displays in 2024 than in 2023. The range now includes 27-, 31.5-, 34- and 49-inch panels. The first manufacturers are expected to introduce select displays at CES 2024 in January.
