Anyone within a 500 mile radius Cape Cod Familiar with this famous structure. Built in 1933, this venerable old steel arch is often the first and final chapter of any Cape Cod vacation, and usually not a good read. It has a reputation for stop traffic all year round.
When then Gov. Mitt Romney has vowed to tear up the old Sagamore Rotary on the mainland side, and hopefully the traffic will flow faster. I was there on December 3rd, 2004 when the governor picked up a jackhammer he thought was out of order and posed himself in front of a group of media.

I was getting more attention than I wanted, honking horns and finger gestures and even several motorists stopping with windows asking for their picture to be taken.

It’s filmed all the familiar sights, lines of traffic, distraught drivers, and even jackhammer crews slashing the sidewalk just like the governor’s way back. But the picture that hung, a pair of shades and a good old-fashioned trowel, could have been a scene from the original construction 90 years ago.
