The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were mobbed by fans in Nigeria after arriving in Abuja this morning. The duo took selfies, played with schoolchildren and joked with their teachers as they embarked on their three-day tour.
The trip comes after Prince Harry's brief return to the UK where he celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games – but did not see King Charles due to conflicting memoirs.
Harry and Meghan are in Nigeria on a whirlwind tour to promote the Games in Africa, and are expected to visit a school, meet injured soldiers and attend basketball and polo matches before attending an evening gala.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, returned to the UK on Tuesday afternoon to attend a mass at St Paul's Cathedral to mark the Invictus event. A few miles away, Charles welcomed guests to Buckingham Palace's first garden party of the year.
Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales said his wife Kate was “doing well” after being diagnosed with cancer during his visit to the Isles of Scilly on Friday.
William is told of a new health and social care facility being built on duchy land near the hospital. He said George, Charlotte and Louis were “very jealous” of his trip, and said he might bring them to Cornwall later in the year.
