“Jazzrausch” connects different worlds in the best sense of “cross”. The basis is techno, the trance dance style that emerged in the early 1990s with its roots in minimalist and electronic music. The now world-famous “Gazsrausch” formation began as the home band of the Munich techno club “Harry Klein”. Of course, elements of heavy brass swing and funk patterns still sparkle, but the classic motifs have also been tackled into pieces by curator, composer, and electronics specialist Leonard Kohn. “The Fall of Shostakovich,” for example, with its distinctive rhythms and dissonant melody sections, was based on this modern composer’s 15th symphony.
Goethe’s “Faust” with excerpts on the poetry “Bring me back to my youth” was the inspiration for the wonderful musical universe created by Gazeruss.
The solo singer showed a massive group
The solo singer exhibited an enormous frequency range between diction, vocalization, cool erotic jazz (“five dices”) and vocal ecstasy. Among the many talented in big wind instruments, mention should be made of Florian Lochner with a strong baritone voice and Daniel Klingle, who made the soprano saxophone sound like the oboe in a superb way, as actors. Tromboneer, conductor and director Roman Sladec, managed to lure the audience out of their sanctuaries with plenty of humor and slightly sarcastic advice (“Lower Bavaria is a special brand”): in the second appearance, Rivertone was a melodic charm with an oriental touch due to an explosion of techno, hardly any visitors managed than staying in their seats. The “sacred jazz hall” in Straubing was turned into a techno club, and thanks to the energy of the “Jazzrausch”, the aforementioned request of the enthusiastic audience seemed to be fulfilled: “Give me my youth back!”
