Countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński and Il Pomo d’oro embark on a journey into rarities from the 17th century with a heightened sense of elegance.
You have to dig deep into the archives to collect this repertoire. Under the title “Beyond,” performer Jakub Józef Orliński and the Il Pomo d’oro ensemble perform rare works from the 17th century with works by eighteen composers, including Saraceni, Pollarullo, Jarzebski and Netti. Ten titles – arias, cantatas, madrigals, concertos – have never been recorded on recordings before. Orlinsky sings with fine tuning and a sensitivity sometimes reminiscent of an improvised performance. Although his voice does not have pure euphoria at its core, there is something light and natural about his singing, whether gracefully virtuoso or slow, mournful. Orliński mixes highs and lows organically. Il Pomo d’oro works in very close alliance with the singer and also designs purely musical works with a high degree of stylistic sensitivity.
