In the world premiere, Alois Muhlbacher presents a solo cantata by Antonio Bononcini about the involuntary separation of lovers.
With 28-year-old Alois Mühlbacher, a new chapter of interpretation begins in some areas of the artistic repertoire. The female mezzo-soprano voices and male counter-voices approach the castrato repertoire with a fluidity that sparkles with sexual ambivalence and charisma and is always excitingly intense. On the other hand, Muhlbacher perpetuates the impeccable whiteness of his long, impressive past, thus delaying his bell's coming of age. That is why the world premiere recording of the cantata about the involuntary separation of lovers by the lesser-known Bononcini brothers sounds like a report in a voice to which longings and desires are (until now) alien. The tone, design and colorful talent of the countertenor's Peter Pan are, of course, amazing. The Ars Antiqua Austria is assisted by the Upper Austrian acoustic miracle, which is slim, gorgeous and very quiet.
