Bollywood's crème de la crème put on their most elegant feet to congratulate newlyweds Ira Khan and Nupur Shekhari at their wedding reception in Mumbai on Saturday night. The Bachchan family was represented by Jaya Bachchan and her daughter Shweta, who led the list of celebrities at the ceremony. Film veterans Hema Malini, Rekha and Seera Banu were photographed together at the reception. Other guests include Katrina Kaif, Taapsee Pannu, Madhuri Dixit, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.

The couple's section was represented by Randeep Hooda, Leen Laishram, Sunny Leone, Daniel Weber, Jackie Bhagnani, Farhan Akhtar and his wife Shibani Dandekar.

Ira Khan and Nupur Shekhar registered their wedding ceremony in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai on January 3. The couple then held their wedding ceremony in Udaipur, Rajasthan this week. Nupur Shekhari and Ira Khan got engaged in September 2022. The proposal was not traditional at all. Nupur Shekhare proposed to Ira at the Ironman Championship in Italy, where Nupur participated.

Professionally, Ira made her directorial debut with a theatrical adaptation of Euripides' novel. Medea, which featured Hazel Keech in the titular role. It premiered in various cities across India in December 2019. Ira studied music, while her brother Junaid was helping her father Aamir Khan in filmmaking. Nupur Shekhari is a famous fitness trainer, who has trained Aamir Khan, Sushmita Sen among other celebrities.

Ira is the younger of Aamir Khan's two children with his first wife Reena Dutta. Aamir Khan, who was married to director Kiran Rao for 15 years, announced his divorce in July 2021. They are still co-parenting his son Azad.
