Gaming as a sport continues to have a strong presence, and not just abroad. Esports events and tournaments are held regularly in this country. A big part of the Swiss scene is Red Bull Gaming World. In the Swiss Museum of Transport, international and national events are held every year in Media World on the first floor, which has been specially converted for esports.
The first major festival of the Swiss gaming scene for the strategy game “League of Legends” took place this weekend: Red Bull Immantania. Two all-star teams, made up of professional players from various Swiss clans and organizations, competed against each other as Team Inferno and Team Ocean. The event was streamed on Twitch and hosted by game designer Marissa “Slice” Dorrit.
In the end, the Inferno team was most successful on mouse and keyboard. They were allowed to take the cup, medals and prize money of 2,000 Swiss francs from Lucerne.
More events in the planning
Red Bull Gaming World has been transformed into a classic esports venue, and computers, consoles, and plenty of LED lights were standard at such tournaments. There were also players from Romandy, who so far had many great talents to show themselves compared to the rest of Switzerland.
Other events are also scheduled for 2023. For example, the Olympic Games “Red Bull Universe” or the talk series “Get Buffed” broadcast in two national languages. Red Bull Gaming World aims to nurture gaming talent and establish itself as a leading venue for gaming events.
All glasses can be found on the Twitch channel of Red Bull Switzerland. Also in 20 minutes, some events on our site Twitch channel aired.
