First of all, it seems worrisome that, as a customer, you can’t rely 100 percent on the reliability of reviews. “Well, we’re all a little dependent on these ratings. It’s also been shown that travelers like to use reviews,” said Ron Perdus, a consumer expert.
But there are some clues as to whether the review is real or fake: “Now there are some anomalies in the reviews, for example, if it’s a brand-new product that’s getting a lot of reviews very quickly, you should really be filling your ears.”
Not only for travelers, but also for the hotels themselves, false reviews can have dire consequences: “A hotel that suffers from negative reviews will notice it very clearly in terms of sales.” Ron Berdus goes further: “Online ratings decide the fate of each individual hotel. Consumers depend on reviews. A poorly rated hotel isn’t booked, so it loses huge sales, it can go bankrupt, and a well rated hotel gets booked accordingly.” .
