First of all, it seems worrisome that, as a customer, you can’t rely 100 percent on the reliability of reviews. “Well, we’re all a little dependent on these ratings. It’s also been shown that travelers like to use reviews,” said Ron Perdus, consumer expert.
But there are some clues as to whether the review is real or fake: “Now there are some anomalies in the reviews, for example, if it’s a brand-new product that gets a lot of reviews very quickly, you should really be filling your ears.”
Not only for travelers, but also for the hotels themselves, false reviews can have dire consequences: “A hotel that suffers from negative reviews will notice it very clearly in terms of sales.” Ron Berdus goes further: “Online ratings decide the fate of each individual hotel. Consumers depend on reviews. A poorly rated hotel isn’t booked, so it loses huge sales, it can go bankrupt, and a well rated hotel gets booked accordingly.” .
