RDNA 3 for all gamers
The four new Ryzen 8000G series desktop APUs, which AMD officially introduced at CES 2024, are especially impressive in light of the integrated graphics units (“IGPs”), which are also available for the first time in desktops on the RDNA 3 with the Navi suite 3.x is very interesting from a technical standpoint as well. The manufacturer promises that 1080p gaming will be possible even without a dedicated graphics card and uses hand-picked benchmarks to show off the capabilities of the IGP Radeon 700M series. Naturally, PCGH did not miss the opportunity to verify this through self-created criteria. We've invited different comparison models from Intel and Nvidia that can be compared to the Ryzen Phoenix in terms of raw performance. In conclusion, we explain whether the AMD Ryzen 8000G processor is worth it in terms of graphics performance, or whether you should choose a cheap processor with a small graphics card.
PCGH has created two different testbeds based on the Ryzen 8000G processor architecture. You are now reading the part that deals exclusively with the Ryzen 7 8700G and Ryzen 5 8600G integrated graphics cards. We recorded performance in several games and provide a comprehensive overview of the expected performance of the two APUs.
We'd like to thank Zed Up, which provided us with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G processor for comparisons with the Phoenix's successor.
