Razer upgrades the Blackshark V2 Pro gaming headset

Razer launched the 2023 version of the Blackshark V2 Pro. The new version features a new microphone and a much more powerful battery. 3.5mm audio input is no longer available.

With the Blackshark V2 Pro (2023), Razer is updating its gaming headset. The company states that the hardware has been improved in many areas. Headphone stands for “first-class sound, long-lasting comfort, and ultra-fast connectivity.”

Enhanced microphone

The headset now also has a USB-C connection. This allows the battery to charge particularly quickly—15 minutes should give the headphones 6 hours of juice. Razer has also improved the battery itself: It offers 70 hours of playtime — more than three times the previous version, the company notes.

Razer has also worked a bit on the design. The 2023 Headset features improved clamping force, a hardened steel headband, and reinforced sliders, ensuring greater comfort and longer durability.

“Properly developed, properly developed 50mm TriForce Titanium drivers” ensure good sound, Razer writes. On the software side, there are specific sound profiles for a number of well-known tournament games. Profiles can be selected directly on the headset. Razor “Synapse” no longer needs to be installed on a PC, PCGamer notes.

The headset receives the audio signal either via 2.4GHz wireless technology or now also via Bluetooth 5.2. However, the headset can no longer be connected to an analog source via an audio cable. Razor removed the required 3.5mm jack from the new model.

The Blackshark V2 Pro (2023) Gaming Headset is now available from Razer and authorized retailers. Acer mentions 229 euros as an RRP.
