PixelBlast Festival: fun and games in Amberg

Amber. The PixelBlast Gaming Festival takes place on Saturday with free entry, interactive games such as the Marble Maze, creative workshops and tournaments.

Amberg is facing a unique event: the PixelBlast Gaming Festival will be held on Saturday at the OTH Campus. From 11 am to 6 pm, the place turns into a paradise for gamers. Children ages eight and older, teens, young adults and families are invited to participate. Highlights: Entry is free.

The most prominent games and competitions

The festival offers many distinctive events. A very special game is Marble Maze, which won the German Computer Games of the Year 2024. Visitors have the opportunity to experience this award-winning multiplayer game for themselves. “Marble Maze is coming to Amberg for the PixelBlast Games Festival,” say the organizers happily. Action-packed tournaments like the Mario Kart Championship and Smash Brothers Hot Seat are not to be missed. They provide great opportunities to compete in the gaming community.

For technology enthusiasts, there are AI applications you can try. One of them is Quick Draw, a game in which players can test their drawing skills against artificial intelligence.

Creative workshops and learning opportunities

The festival is not only limited to interactive games, but also includes creative workshops. Participants can learn how to program games using Scratch, learn how to publish games, or try their hand at building Minecraft torches and emulators. There is also the opportunity to try out educational robots and play retro games.

The Games Festival is organized by the media advisory service Oberpfalz, the Oberpfalz District Youth Association and Digital Streetwork Oberpfalz. It is aimed at a wide audience: from children, adolescents and young adults to families and professionals working in the youth field.
