Vienna (pts042 / 05/12/2022 / 12:12) –
A candidate for Federal President is often asked “What would you do if…?”. Hubert Thurnhofer, who announced his candidacy on October 26, 2021, provides answers daily – on current topics as well as on basic political questions. So far, he has published 250 articles on his website Werden2022.at = ethos.at.
He said, “Never before has any candidate for high political office been so transparent about what he thinks, says and does. In addition, there is my moral and philosophical claim that I also say what I think and do what I say.” The 2022 candidate characterizes his position, or as Immanuel Kant says: the base of his actions. Here are some links to comments and articles from early May:
Democracy 2022: Bad Legislation

Rudi Anchober: Pandemia
The former health minister worked during the first year of the epidemic. Stylistically, a strange mixture of “fantasy and faction”. You will search in vain for hard facts about the decision-making processes of a minister and the entire health system in the book.

Vital Energy: Good, Bad, or Ugly!
Extensive campaigns against the use of biomass (particularly wood chips and pellets) for heat and power generation have been going on for several years – largely unnoticed by the Austrian media. The article examines how science becomes a tool for campaigning and framing.

Autocracy vs. Democracy
Famous journalist Hans Rauscher has reconstructed how Putin, Orban & Co. evolved into authoritarian rulers. The weakness of his portrayal is that he uses only the usual clichés while completely ignoring Austria’s authoritarian tendencies.
