Nova Bus announced in a statement on Wednesday that it will exit bus production in the United States and close its manufacturing and delivery facility in Plattsburgh. The transit coach manufacturer said it will close its Clinton County facilities by 2025. The focus is on Canadian facilities in Quebec, according to the announcement. “The strategic decision was made to end bus production in the United States by 2025 after evaluating its profitability, which has been suffering from continuous financial losses over the years,” Anna Westerberg, chairman of the Nova Bus board of directors, said in a written statement. Plattsburgh facility through the first quarter of 2025 and will also support US customers with parts and service requirements. The company said it plans to continue operations at the Plattsburgh facility through the first quarter of 2025 and will also support US customers with parts and service requirements.
Nova Bus said its decision to withdraw from the US market will “progressively” affect full-time positions by 2025. Additional details were not immediately available.
