Nikon announced on November 16 that this year marks the 90th anniversary of the release of NIKKOR lenses. They also announced that they had created a commemorative logo.
The creation of the logo is one of the actions to celebrate the 90th anniversary. Distinctive lens silhouettes and lenses that have historically left their mark since the birth of NIKKOR are arranged.
In addition, the text “A Story in Every Lens” explains that each NIKKOR lens has unique features and emotions, and each has its own story that captures the moments that matter.
In the future, we plan to develop videos that focus on the value, quality and achievements that NIKKOR lenses provide.
NIKKOR’s history goes back to 1932 when Nikon (then known as Nippon Kogaku Kogyo) registered the trademark `NIKKOR’ and began selling aerial photography lenses under the name `Aero-Nikkor’ in 1933. That was the beginning. We are one of the few manufacturers in the world to manufacture optical glass in-house, starting at the optical glass stage, and have continued to use the latest technology ever since. It has worked its way into becoming a leading brand in the field of high-performance lenses.

In 2018, we announced the NIKKOR Z lens for mirrorless cameras. The newly approved Z mount has become a hot topic due to its large inner diameter of 55mm. Z mount lenses are still being offered.
