Milan (ots/PRNewswire)

  • NextChem Tech will use its proprietary catalytic partial oxidation (NX CPO) technology, an advanced process to produce syngas
  • The contract includes licensing and technology integration to develop a facility for the industrial production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from green hydrogen and carbon dioxide

Mer Gives commission Next Chemistry Technologya subsidiary of Nextchem (Sustainable technology solutions). Paul Wurth SA, a subsidiary of the SMS Group (“Paul Worth”) and Norsk Electronic Fuel AS (“Norsk e-Fuel”). The contract includes licensing the NX CPO technology and integrating it into the technological design of the Norwegian project developer Norsk e-Fuel's first plant in Mosjoen, Norway, where sustainable aviation fuel will be produced from green hydrogen and bio-based carbon dioxide.

NextChem Tech will use its NX CPO technology to produce syngas through controlled partial oxidation using a rapid reaction. The advanced and innovative process helps significantly improve carbon yield in synthetic fuel production.

The first plant developed by Norsk e-Fuel will have a production capacity of 40 thousand tons of e-fuel per year and will be operational after 2026. Based on this first project, two additional plants will be built by 2030, each with a capacity of about 80 thousand tons per year. The goal is to sustainably reduce current aviation emissions through the use of innovative technologies for e-fuel production.

Alessandro BerninI, General Manager of MAIRE“We are proud to be part of this pioneering technological initiative with the SMS Group and Norsk e-Fuel, which seeks the industrial production of e-fuels in Norway,” he explains.
