New technology: the Austrian National Library provides innovative OrCam equipment for the visually impaired

All books, magazines and magazines with modern fonts are readable, Fractal is unread. OrCam can also recognize and read faces from the screen. Audio can be output in German, English and French.

The innovative OrCam MyEye 2.0 is available free of charge in cooperation with Israeli technology company OrCam for a six-month testing phase. The frequency of use should then be jointly assessed and the glasses, if desired, will be donated to the Austrian National Library.

The device is available for use in an area specially designed for the blind and visually impaired. The use is made against a deposit (user card, ID). Instructions for use are provided on the site, and users are supervised by regular follow-ups during use. All the staff at the information desk have already been trained.
