Xbox Series X | Power saving option will be introduced S officially this week

The new “Shutdown” power saving option for Xbox Series X | S, which will be newly available, lower power when the Xbox is down than 10-15 watts in standby mode. It should be kept at 0.5 watts.

Since it’s designed not to affect reception of nightly updates etc, it doesn’t impair usability, but by setting the period of time you use your Xbox console most frequently as “active time” you can also shorten the time from power outages Even starting the console up to a few seconds (compared to a normal shutdown).

Activity hours can be set manually, or you can let Xbox schedule them automatically based on when you use the console. By the way, with this “Shutdown (energy saving)” setting, the power consumption when the power is turned off can be reduced up to 20 times compared to sleep mode.

It also supports the Carbon Aware function, which receives game and OS updates during the time when more renewable energy can be used (not supported in Japan). By enabling this, it is possible to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This feature is already available on Windows 11 PCs.

These features have been available to Xbox Insider Program participants since January of this year, but are now available to general users as well. It will be available through the update app that will be released this week, so please use it.
