New iOS and Android games: Netflix continues to expand its gaming area

In order to counteract the declining number of subscribers, Netflix is ​​not only investing in new movies and series, but also in games. The streaming service for smartphone users has announced four new titles, increasing the selection to over 20 free mobile games.

The American company was initially mocked for its ambitions in the gaming sector, but now there is a certain added value for Netflix customers. Although the library is still limited to indie titles, some of which have been underrated, the lack of ads seems particularly popular with casual gamers. Netflix completely eliminates ads, fees, or in-app purchases in its games. Three more games are now available, and a fourth will follow next week.

Reboots include Dragon Up (East Side Games), Moonlighter (11 Bit Studios), Townsmen – A Kingdom Rebuilt (HandyGames), and Exploding Kittens (Exploding Kittens Digital). The latter will be available for download within the Netflix app from May 31, 2022. Among the movies and series, users will find the Netflix Games tab, which leads to detailed descriptions and a path to the app stores of both Apple iOS and Google Android. New games will be announced as follows.

Dragon Up (East Side Games)

Moonlighter (11-bit studios)

In this RPG, you are Will, a brave shopkeeper who dreams of heroic deeds. On the day you are the boss of yourself. You offer items for sale, set prices carefully, manage your gold reserves, hire assistants and work on upgrades for your store.

Townsmen – Rebuilt Kingdom (HandyGames)

Managing a kingdom can be very difficult. With this mobile version of the well-known strategy game – our number one game from Germany – you can take charge. Start with a small village and develop it into a huge medieval city. Diverse and varied lands await you and the settlers who need food, shelter and entertainment.

Exploding cats (exploding digital cats)

Get your catnip ready and play Exploding Kittens in single player or with up to five friends in multiplayer. Draw as many cards as possible and do your best to avoid or defuse the killer cats…otherwise the dynamite will explode. In this game of chance, players draw cards until someone draws a kitten that explodes and flies it in the air.
