Ganga prepares for live events
Live action Avatar: The Last Airbender It will officially premiere on Netflix on February 22, 2024. The streaming service revealed the release date and first trailer for the series on Thursday during its Geeked Week showcase.
Netflix first announced the live-action spin-off of the beloved animated show in 2018. The original creators, Michael DiMartino and Brian Konietzko, were on board to reimagine the series better than M. Night Shyamalan’s film. However, the two left the production after two years, explaining that the vision for the Netflix series did not align with the “spirit and integrity of Avatar.” They have since continued to announce new animated projects in the Avatar-verse.
Meanwhile, a new creative staff, led by… Sleepy HollowNetflix’s Albert Kim took over the Netflix show. Michael Joy (Riverdale), Jabbar Rissani (Lost in space), and Roseanne Liang (shadow in the cloud) Also join as directors. The main cast includes Gordon Cormier (Platform) like Aang; qiawentio (Anne with E) as Katara; Ian Owsley as Sokka; And Dallas Liu (Pen15) Like Zuko. The four relative newcomers are joined by heavy hitters including Daniel Dae Kim, Amber Midthunder, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Danny Pudi and George Takei.
We’ve already seen some first glimpses of the show, including the main cast – as well as Fire Nation characters – wearing costumes. With the official release date on the horizon, there’s more to come for the live event symbol picture.
