Orion is a spacecraft developed by NASA for the Artemis project and future manned Mars exploration. The Orion spacecraft, which was launched on November 16, 2022 with the first unit of the new rocket “SLS (Space Launch System)” to perform unmanned flight tests in the Artemis 1 mission, will take 25 and a half days on December 12, 2022. It returned to Earth after completing task to

Artemis 1 was an uncrewed mission, but in preparation for future missions, NASA had human mannequins and models aboard Orion to measure the effects of space radiation on the human body. In addition, Snoopy, who has had a deep relationship with NASA since the time of the Apollo program half a century ago , and Sean (the main character in “Shaun the Sheep”) are stuffed animals that have been chosen by the European Space Agency (ESA) as indicators.(※)Pinned as The following image shows a Snoopy stuffed animal that was launched on Artemis 1’s Orion spacecraft and returned after completing the mission.

At Kennedy Space Center, work is underway such as checking every part of the crew module and removing the payload. According to NASA, the seat used to mount a full-body humanoid “Campus” mannequin, as well as some of the avionics such as the GPS receiver and video processing unit, will be refurbished for the next mission, and Artemis 2 is also being used.’.

Artemis 2 is a manned test flight mission and will not land on the Moon, but the Orion spacecraft launched by the SLS will return to Earth after orbiting the back side of the Moon. The Artemis 2 mission is scheduled for May 2024. Also, as the first manned lunar exploration mission in nearly half a century, Artemis 3, in which two men and a woman land near the moon’s south pole, is scheduled for 2025.
