Moonfall: Science fiction spotlight or catastrophic choice? We discuss in the podcast – cinema news

In “Moonfall” Roland Emmerich dedicates the earth to its fall once more. In our onscreen podcast, we discuss whether or not a sci-fi influencer, where the Moon is on a collision course with our planet, is fun.

Metropolitan Film Export

the Master in Disasters is back! Roland Emmerich, who in action films such as “Independence Day”, “The Day After Tomorrow” and “2012” has already launched every imaginable disaster that plagues the world with great fun, encounters the normally harmless Earth Moon in “Moonfall”. It has left its orbit, and as it appears to be relentlessly approaching Earth, massive debris is raining down from the Moon and the tides are going crazy…

This looks like entertainment popcorn in Emmerich’s best way. But how convincing is the work of “Moonfall”, in whose story one should of course not expect much common sense, as an effective entertainment cinema?

This time, moderator Sebastian discusses with FILMSTARTS editors Pascal and Annemarie in the on-screen podcast. And we can already expect one thing: Despite unanimous opinions about the film’s strengths and weaknesses, the trio came to different conclusions about whether or not Moonfall was recommended. So, it’s worth listening to our podcast if you’re still undecided whether ‘Moonfall’ might get on your own cinematic nerves. By the way, we stay spoiler-free and before there are any spoilers at the end of the podcast, there is of course a warning.

Moonfall starring Halle Berry (“John Wick: Chapter 3”), Patrick Wilson (“Aquaman”), and John Bradley (“Game Of Thrones”) has been in cinemas since February 10, 2022.
