Xbox Cloud Gaming is coming soon to Amazon Fire TV
There are now many ways to use many games outside of Xbox consoles and PCs. In addition to offers such as Nvidia Geforce Now and countless applications for smart TVs from different manufacturers – for example from Samsung for its TV models – Amazon and Microsoft have now announced a new collaboration.
Starting in July – a more precise date is still missing – the Xbox app will be available for the Amazon Fire TV 4K and Fire TV 4K Max. Combined with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership, this makes it possible to bring hundreds of games to any TV via cloud streaming. “It's a great, affordable, convenient and easy-to-use option for enjoying a huge library of great games,” Microsoft said in its blog.
As of July: Xbox Cloud Gaming on Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K and 4K Max
As Microsoft explains, after downloading the Xbox app via the Amazon Appstore, you'll first need to sign in to your Microsoft account. You can then get your Game Pass Ultimate subscription directly here.
Interesting side note: Fortnite can be played without a membership – Epic Games is once again proving how smart they are in making their successful game, which is especially popular with younger audiences, as easily accessible as possible.
To play, you then need to connect a Bluetooth controller. The developers mention Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, PlayStation DualSense or DualShock 4 models, but of course models from other manufacturers should also work.
