The beloved actor has reached the limits of his medical hurdles City and countrysidetalks about how angry he’s been in recent years… and reveals that he practically had to have part of his body surgically removed.
“I hurt my hand and then almost lost it,” MJF says. “It was a tsunami of bad luck.”
The context here is Mike discussing all the injuries he’s had recently – including breaking two of his arms, his shoulder, his cheekbone and one of his hands… which somehow led to a more serious diagnosis, albeit… one that thankfully never fully manifested itself. .
On top of these blows, Michael also underwent surgery in 2018 to remove a tumor on his spine, which was unrelated to his Parkinson’s disease. While rehabilitating from that, he had a bad fall… and he says he broke his other arm in the process.

Here, Mike says… “One day, I’m going to run out of gas… Sure, if I died tomorrow, it would be premature, but it wouldn’t be unheard of. And so, no, I’m not afraid of that.”
Michael has had Parkinson’s disease since 1991, when he was in his late 20s. Considering that he continues to fight and to be well enough to live a public life is nothing short of a miracle.
