Stuttgart – Mercedes-Benz, the world’s oldest car manufacturer, has big plans for the future. Despite a strong focus on electric vehicles and digital transformation, the group plans to invest even more in high-tech combustion engines. The investments, in the double-digit billion range, will be spent primarily in Baden-Württemberg, Mercedes’ hometown. Mercedes had already announced its desire to rely exclusively on electric vehicles from 2030. But that goal has become more distant.
