This is still bad news for the world and gamers of video games. Even if you haven’t played the game, even the whole smoky action will never be fun. This time, it’s Cryptic with the very promising Magic Legends closing its doors. Servers that will soon be interrupted and changes have already been made in the game…
Magic Legends, it wasn’t Game of the Year even if in fact it was eagerly awaited. However, when it was released early, Open Beta players were necessarily expecting something massive, a game clearly inspired by the MTG universe, that should be killer. But it was quite the opposite. Fans of the license did not stick, and others could not get into the game, immerse themselves in it. For us, Magic Card players and others, but also fans of this type of game, Magic was a surprise, but in a bad sense.
If the deck’s combat mechanics were so good, then everything else was wrong. Whether the story is incomprehensible to ordinary people and pleasant in its entirety, the graphics also did not break the house, or the empty spaces are very empty … In short, the game did not have much merit, especially if we add the complexity of its internal economic model.
This is the end of Magic Legends, as confirmed by Steve Recosa The game’s official website In these few lines:
Greetings, airborne pedestrian.
With a sad heart we announce that Magic: Legends will be closing its doors at the end of the open beta on PC, 1he is November 2021. All in-game purchases made through the Arc and Epic Games Store will be fully refunded. The servers will still be available and you will be able to play until the official closing day, but the store (ZEN Store) will be deactivated by the end of the week. All items in it can now be purchased with Aether, the free in-game currency.
The vision we had for Magic: Legends was short, but we are proud of what we have come to. Thanks to Wizards of the Coast, we had the opportunity to make Multiverse of Magic: The Gathering accessible to as many people as possible and to explore new approaches to the popular A-RPG genre. We’ve learned important lessons that we will use to improve Cryptic’s future development efforts.
Above all, we would like to thank all the players who have explored the multiverse with us for their input and feedback during both the alpha and beta testing phases. We wouldn’t have gotten this far without you!
Oh really,
Steve Recosa
