Launching “Maya 2025.3”! Graph editor, logic improvements, OpenPBR surface shader, Bifrost 2.11.0.0, and more

autodeskteethOctober 16 (water)Maya update 2025.3He was released.Provides improvements to the graph editor and boolean operations, implementation of OpenPBR surface shaders in Arnold for Maya 5.4.5, Bifrost 2.11.0.0, USD for Maya 0.30, LookdevX for Maya 1.6.0, and more.

Chart editor improvements

By setting “Automatically resize keys when zoomed” in Animation preferences, you can now resize keys in the chart editor when zoomed out. This improves editing efficiency for curves that contain many keyframes.

You can now also control the appearance of tangent lines in the chart view by adjusting the size of the tangent handle and the thickness of the tangent line added to the preferences above.

Handle and lever sizes can now be changed

Optimize logical operations

The logic algorithms for 3ds Max have been updated to enable a unified core logic engine shared between Maya and 3ds Max. Previously, Maya boolean operations would sometimes fail on complex geometries, but updates make boolean operations more reliable and predictable.

Implementing OpenPBR shaders in Arnold for Maya 5.4.5

OpenPBR shaders were implemented in Arnold for Maya 5.4.5, introduced in Maya 2025.3, with improvements to the luminosity/blur model and metallic reflectance parameter settings, among others.

Improved gloss/blur patterns and metallic reflections using OpenPBR surfaces

Arnold for Maya 5.4.5 also includes improvements to the way light is scattered within volumes, updates to the Intel Noise Reducer to improve the quality of noise reduction, improvements to slope shading, heat maps that create spectra based on the amount of added search modes and search modes implementing view volume rendering Procedural.

Bifrost 2.11.0.0 adds cloud-based Flow Wedge (preview release)

Bifrost 2.11.0.0 adds texture sampling, a new data browser for debugging, Flow Wedge (technology preview), and more.

Texture sampling is where the newly added Sample_texture_file node returns the RGBA color of the image interpolated with the UV coordinates of the geometry.

Texture sampling

Flow Wedge allows you to send simulations containing parameter variables (wedges) to the cloud, freeing up local PC resources for other work while you wait for the results. The created caches can be easily loaded and compared.

others,Listed in Maya 2025.3USD for Maya 0.30 allows you to control the USD camera in a native Maya viewport, and LookdevX for Maya 1.6.0 also supports OpenPBR.
