Jungle Cruise 2 is officially the move to Disney, with Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt returning to star in the sequel.
According to a report by THRJungle Cruise has made $100 million since its box office debut last month, so it’s no surprise that Disney is eager to make a sequel. He will return with Johnson and Blunt, director Jaume Collette Serra, screenwriter Michael Green and a number of producers.
Jungle Cruise is a movie based on the famous theme park ride at Disneyland and Disney World and looks like a roller coaster in our review of the fantasy adventure movie. “Rigan Rapids. Zombie conquerors. CG animals and a German boat. Oh, and let’s not forget Paul Giamatti with a mature Italian accent. There’s so much to enjoy on Disney’s Jungle Cruise – so much so that you have to lie down afterwards,” part of a 3/5 star rating.
Details of Jungle Cruise 2’s story are still classified, but with behind-the-scenes talent and a leading actress, it probably won’t deviate too far from the crowded, action-packed tone of the first movie. But who knows? Maybe Blunt’s character Lily Houghton will retire in the hills of New Hampshire to run a botany-style bed and breakfast, and we’ll have a black and white standalone sequel (kidding, please don’t expect that).
Jungle Cruise is nearing the end of her stage career, but you can still catch up Disney Plus through Premier Access. If you want to see more from the comfort of your own home, visit The best movies on Disney Plus immediately.
